MONTH NINE

Oh my goodness, nine months already?! This is all happening too fast. I love that she's growing and learning but I hate that my little baby is disappearing. This month was another big one. Grace now has 6 teeth! Four upper and two on the bottom. It is really changing her look and making her look so grown up. Grace can crawl so fast and stand up to anything. She loves to play at my feet in the kitchen while I'm washing dishes or cooking. We have had to really baby proof and lock certain cupboards but it is fun to watch her get into the dishtowels and aprons and scatter them across the floor. She loves crawling up the stairs with dad's help but still doesn't understand coming down and why she can't just turn around and fall forward! She loves bathtime and splashes like crazy! Someday she'll figure out that putting her head straight down into the water doesn't end well! She randomly starts clapping or throwing her head up in the air when she's happy. Oh, she's just got so much personality and I love seeing that come out each month! 

Weight & Height - Grace weighs 20lbs. She finally didn't have to get shots at this months appointment and we were all so relieved! She is wearing some 6-9 and 9-12 month clothes and has thunder thighs...well thunder legs! 

Sleep - Grace naps about 2 hours after she wakes up each morning, then again in the late afternoon. She is pretty used to her nighttime routine and ready for bed by 8:30. Once she's asleep I lay her in her crib where she's only been waking up once in the night for a bottle. Then we sleep in until 8-9. I'm quite happy with her sleep schedule right now. We actually took her camping for her first time, two weekends in a row, and she slept better up there than she ever has! Must be something in the mountain air. I think our biggest problem with sleeping right now is that she has to be playing with my hair and it's causing major hair loss! Any tips on how to get her to stop would be much appreciated! I have tried a small wig but She didn't fall for it. 

Eat - Grace now eats strictly table food. She won't even taste the baby food, she just purses her lips tight anytime I put the spoon to her mouth. She currently loves applesauce packets and watermelon. Lately, she's been taking pieces out of my mouth and trying to put them in her mouth on her own. It's adorable. 

Mommy Update: Well mom's life just got a little bit crazier! I was recently called as the YW secretary so Grace is gonna get to go earlier than 12! Ethan was also called to serve in the YM's and so she'll get passed between us during activities and on Sundays until she can go to Nursery. I don't even want to think about her ever being that old though! Anyways, my life now consists of Grace, household duties, working part-time from home, the gym, friends and family, and now this calling. I am looking forward to the busier pace and seeing just how well we can juggle grace between the two of us and our new callings. I'm sure my testimony will be strengthened by these young women and their impact they will have on me and I greatly look forward to it.

Capitol Reef

We had a blast exploring Capitol Reef National Park with the Janson Clan! This was our first time going and hopefully not our last. The area is breathtakingly beautiful and so unique. Grace did so great on her first campout, which is a good thing since we are heading back out next weekend with the other side of the family! I put together a small video clip of our weekend, enjoy!

MONTH EIGHT

Wow, what a month! Grace hit so many milestones this month. She's officially crawling EVERYWHERE and trying to stand/walk up to EVERYTHING resulting in lots of bruises! She has two teeth! Right in the bottom middle. The first one popped through the day she turned 7 months on Uncle Kyson's wedding day. We had no clue it was coming because she showed no signs. However, the second one was another story. All the signs were there for that one two days later! And now four weeks later we think she might already be working on her upper two teeth! Another fun milestone is her clapping. Anytime we say, "Yay!" She will clap her hands with the proudest smile on her face! She can now climb the stairs but doesn't understand why she can't just fall backward when she's done! And at bathtime, as soon as she hears the water running she tries to lift her leg to climb into the tub or out when she's done.  Such a fun big month! 

Weight & Height - Grace weighs  19lbs now but we'll get the hight at her next month check-up. She is wearing mostly 6-9 month clothes and some brands of 9-12 months. We still use size 3 diapers and probably will for a while. 

Sleep - Grace still wakes up about 2 times a night, 1 on a good night. Honestly just long enough to drink her bottle then she's back out. Honestly, this is why we bought a long size bed because we are a family of snugglers in one big bed!  She loves to cuddle and sleeps better in my bed but I don't mind and if I want the bed to myself I just put her in the crib where she sleeps in between 8-9. She naps 2, sometimes 3 times, a day. 

Eat - Grace loves table food and rarely takes the baby food when offered. She gets excited when we give her some of our food and comes crawling when we have it. Her favorites are watermelon and chewing on a carrot. By chewing, she doesn't really get anything off it just helps with her teething. 

Mommy Update: I've now been working out 1-2 times a week and hoping to up it with my new Summit membership. Any mom's out there need a gym buddy? Hit me up. My days go so much better when I can wake up early to work out and get the house chores done before mom mode kicks in when Grace wakes up. The best part of the gym membership is I can go back to spin classes which I love!!  I've been working more each week from home and enjoying having a paycheck again and something to motivate me each week. I am the type of person that needs to be working on a project, craft or something to stay sane and feel productive. Even though I realize being a stay at home wife and Mom is the definition of productivity. 

I absolutely love this phase of life we're at as a family. Just the three of us. Grace is at the best age, so far, and so sweet! She smiles/giggles when she sees mom and leans for dad when he comes in the room. I dread the day when she doesn't just adore me anymore and thinks dads cooler. Which will happen! Until then I will enjoy every single moment with my little momma's girl!

SpendLove Family Reunion

          

First Annual Spendlove Reunion! We all stayed at a cabin together up on Brian Head and had such a good weekend! We finally updated our family photos at a beautiful overlook and they turned out pretty well considering we literally had five minutes before the rain hit! My younger brother just got a drone and decided to make a video from our week up there! It turned out perfect and will help us to always remember our first annual Spendlove reunion! Check it out!
