26 Weeks + Our Big Move

26 Weeks

Feeling all the feels this week as I am almost to my third Trimester! Time is FLYING. Here is a quick 26-week update for my little (but growing) baby bump.

Baby is the size of:
A butternut squash! She's now over 14 inches tall and weighs about 2 lbs. And I can feel her growing/stretching every day!

Biggest craving right now:

That's easy! Still cinnamon rolls. But they have to be homemade or it's not worth it considering all the heartburn they bring on!

Weight gain:

I honestly haven't weighed myself in a few weeks! Partly because I don't dare know and the other because I don't want to focus on that. I know that as long as I'm getting bigger/rounder and she stays healthy that's all that matters. But I have been attending the gym EVERYDAY to make sure she's the only one growing! As well as to hopefully help for a quicker recovery and return to my target weight goal post-partum.

Best moment this week:

That's a tie! Being able to physically see her kicking from the outside + my mom requested I put the phone up to my stomach so she can talk to her grandbaby. #cuepreganancytears

How I'm sleeping:

Sadly, I am already seeing that getting bigger has affected my sleeping. My schedule is still about the same but my comfort level while sleeping is down to about a 7. I can't be touching my stomach at all or it's uncomfortable. Plus baby girl gets very active just before bed. Of course ;)

Symptoms:

  • I've noticed I can feel her moving and not just kicking! At times it feels like someone has inserted a small balloon into my abdomen and they are just slowly adding air to it.
  • My body can also feel the change with the extra weight it's carrying off my belly now. My bones ache a little when walking but I could tie that to my new increased gym habits as well.
  • They weren't lying when they said those baby girls bring on A LOT of heartburn. I just hope and pray that the old wives' tale is true about her having lots and lots of hair to make up for this constant heartburn. Although I'll love her just as much if she comes out balder than an eagle ;)
I
New in life:

The biggest is living in Georgia! We've officially been here for 2 weeks and I think I am finally getting used to my new schedule. Gym in the AM  with Paula (my new #armywife friend) + working for a few hours a day for STG Dental Care + laundry on days it's needed + attempting to cook dinner in a hotel room with very limited appliances + ending the day with round 2 at the gym or a nice walk with E. We try to find new ways to meet people or social events to attend on base so maybe that will bring some new faces & memories to our time here at Fort Gordon.

Next Doctors Appointment:

Thursday, August 30th @ 10:00 am
 Fort Gordon Hospital

>This will be my first appointment since being on base and they are requiring me to meet with a family doctor to be established as a new patient before they will refer me to my new OB.
> I am going just a little crazy not knowing who exactly is going to be delivering my baby or where. But I do have faith that Ethan and I made the right decision to have me come out here with him. To keep our family together + to allow him to witness all the milestones and challenges of pregnancy + and to be present for the birth of our first baby girl.
> I absolutely know that if the medical need arose for me to return home to have the baby, Ethan wouldn't hesitate to put us first even if that meant he couldn't be there. I love that about him but I am doing everything in my power and outside my comfort zone to be here, with him, to start our forever family!

Baby Shower

Because of our move to Georgia and the fact that we'd be delivering the baby our here, my family decided to throw me a baby shower before we left. I was only 29 weeks so at first I didn't feel like we could do it that soon and feel good about it. I felt bad inviting friends to come and shower me with gifts when I was barely over halfway. After, some convincing from my family and thinking it over I decided to let them go ahead with it.
We had a great turnout and we were really thankful for all the people that came to support us and shower us with love. Looking back I would have been a little sad to have not had a baby shower for our first baby!  My sisters did such a great job decorating and with the food. Here's a couple pictures to remember the big day. <3

The only regret I had was forgetting to take a picture with everyone that came, blame that on pregnancy brain!! But I truly was grateful for the thought and time put into this shower for baby G :)

24 Weeks

24 Weeks

Hit my halfway mark this week! I'm torn between wanting it to slow down + speed up!! Here's this week's updates!

Baby is the size of:
A butternut squash! She's now over 14 inches tall and weighs about 2lbs. And I can feel her growing/stretching every day!

Biggest craving right now:

Anything healthy. Fruits, veggies and you guessed it sandwiches. I feel those will never get old this pregnancy! Honestly, though, junk food and soda just make me feel soo sick!

Moving to GEORGIA!! The move itself has been a little bit of an adjustment for me but getting to stay together as a family makes it all worth it!

How I'm sleeping:

As long as I'm not on my back I've been sleeping pretty great. She seems to move a lot at night and first thing in the morning when dad heads off to work/class. Sometimes really early so I'm turning in to a morning person whether I want to or not ;)

Symptoms:

Been feeling a lot of round ligament pain lately.  I think she is just stretching out and getting comfortable since she's still got a couple months in there!

What's making me Nauseous:

No nausea....luckily!!! Fingers crossed that old familiar friend doesn't come back! I'm finally starting to forget how bad it was during the first trimester that I think I'll actually do this again someday ;)
I
Mood:
Tired and stressed from moving!Saying goodbye to family and friends was hard. Then I had to make sure our house was ready for the renters. Got the babies room set up as much as possible before we get back. Washed and sorted all of her baby clothes, burp rags, blankets, etc. And then pack and drive 31 hours to Georgia. Then once we got here, I had to turn this hotel room into a "home" for the next four months. STRESSFUL month, but gonna be worth it!

New in life:

>Obviously.. we moved! It's been a little stressful but I'm actually liking to so far. Aside from missing my family/house and my familiar schedule, it's growing on me. I just need to give myself time to adjust and get used to the new schedule and then it'll be a bit more comfortable.

>Ethan started his first day of Training today. Man seeing him in uniform <3 He's gonna do great here!
>I can't believe I'm almost to my third trimester! It's really been flying by now, I think especially with the move. It sometimes still doesn't feel real!

Next Doctors Appointment:

Some time + some place in Georgia at Fort Gordon?!

20 Weeks + Snow Basin Resort

BABY #1 : 20 WEEKS

 on
Sunday, July 16th, 2017
Sleep:
I can't be on my back for too long and have to have the body pillow between my legs or using Ethan as one. He prefers the body will since it's the middle of summer but he's nice at lets me cuddle with him for a little bit when we first lay down.

Best moment this week:
Going in for the Anatomy Ultrasound on Wednesday. So far at every ultrasound, she has been a little stinker and really made us work for it. Constantly having to poke and move my belly around to get her to face the right way. This one was no different. We were supposed to be checking her lungs, heart, etc but all we could see for the first five minutes was her little bum and spine! Finally, she flipped and we got that gorgeous profile I've been dying to see!!

Food I'm craving:
Sandwiches...always sandwiches!! And lately cinnamon rolls.

What's making me nauseous:
Nothing! I still sometimes dry-heave in the morning but usually only if I don't eat something late enough before going to bed.

Symptoms:
Just some occasional round ligament pain which just means my body is changing and she's growing! I also get pretty sick if I don't eat every couple of hours. Luckily I like most food now!

What I'm looking forward too:
Getting baby girls nursery finished! It's coming along and getting me more excited for her to get here!

New in life:
> I'm almost done at work then we move to GEORGIA!
> Our house is really coming together! Can't wait to post about the before and afters.

 Snow Basin Resort

The Janson clan found out about a good deal to head up to Snow Basin Lodge for lunch and to let the kids ride the Gondola. Little did I know and thanks to my adorable "forgetful" husband he neglected to tell me that we were going to be hiking as well. Now because this lodge was the venue for a wedding we previously attended I imagined our family all dressing somewhat nice casual to eat and visit at the lodge. However, when everyone started showing up in shorts, hats and tennis shoes I immediately knew I was a little overdressed! Ethan was great though and helped me hike up the mountain with my 20-week belly/energy and even in my flip flops and all. I was so glad we decided to join them all on the hike after all because it was Gorgeous!! Snow at some spots really caught your eye for how warm it was out there. The kids were excited to play in the snow, even if it was a little dirty. You can't say no to a snow ball fight! We decided this will definitely need to be a Janson family tradition every year!
