My latest DIY's...

I have the best mother and mother in-law! My last two projects could not have been done without them!! First up is my kitchen table!! During both projects I thought I had bit off more than I could chew, but thanks to the help from family and my husband they turned out great! These projects take a lot of work but in the end it's so great to just sit and admire the finished project knowing how much work we put into it! I know you are usually supposed to post the before first but I am too excited about the After!!

AFTER!!

Shannon is the bomb! She's helped me through every step of this project! I am grateful to have her as a mother in-law. And especially for being so patient with a newby like me!

BEFORE!!

The other project was this cute little entry table. My mom, sisters and I all made these on our first GNO (girls night out). It was a lot more work than we were expecting but it turned out pretty great, if I do say so myself! And I couldn't have done it without my brother for the assembly and my mom for all her hard work she put into them!

Mt. Timpanogus

A friend of ours invited us to hike Mt. Timpanogus Saturday morning to watch the sunrise! We didn't know much about the hike and thought it sounded like a lot of fun so we agreed. We all met up at the trail head at 2 am. (in order to get there on time to see the sun come up). I think we were expecting a fun little casual night hike that might be a little long but overall fairly easy.....14 miles later we realized this hike was more than that. The hike was mostly uphill switchbacks over and around two mountains. One of the most amazing sites of the hike was in the early morning, looking up to see several small groups of people ahead climbing up the hill and all you can see are their trails of flashlights. You wouldn't believe how many people were hiking at 2 am. About halfway through the hike up we decided to turn out our lights and travel by moonlight. Probably one of the best decisions of the night! There were times I questioned our decision to do this level of a hike, let alone at two in the morning, when we could have been sleeping. However, the moment you reach the top and you see the city lights below and the distance you've climbed, it's so worth it! It's so rewarding. And to see the sun peak over the mountain for the first time that day, it's breathtaking. Even romantic. On the hike down it was then bright enough to view the scenery of the dark mountain we just climbed. The valley was covered in so many vibrant colors of wild flowers and we were even lucky enough to witness a heard of wild goats coming into the valley to graze. Such a beautiful hike! We both determined we loved it and were so glad we decided to hike it.....but that it would probably just be a one time hike ;) Yet we will always encourage you to do it...at least once!!

You can definitely see how tired we all were by sunrise!

Before the hike we went to a concert at a place called Veloru that a mission friend of Ethan's was in. Such a sweet venue that was just so off the beaten path. It wasn't necessarily a place you'd catch Ethan and I at before this concert but now it's a place we hope to return to in the future.

Saturday after the hike we got back about 11 am and slept pretty much all day then went on a double date with some friends of ours. Ethan has been dying to go to an arcade so we went to Nickel City Arcade in Provo. He was such a happy husband. ha

After the concert we went to Sports Comedy. It's basically a improve game show like a clean version of 'Who's line is it anyways"! I don't think I have laughed that hard in such a long time. We are so glad we found this place and will most likely go back as often as we can. The only picture we got with them didn't exactly turn out (stupid phone) but it's all we got! Oh and then we went and made little bombs in the park! And before any of you report us, it was just with mentos and pop. Our real ones didn't turn out... ;)

Sister Stone is home!! A lot has changed since she left 18 months ago...but our cousinly love has not! ;)

Best Cousins Forever!

If there's one thing I'd kill for, it'd be loving from my nephews.  Especially liam. He's at that age where everything is "I do,  I do"  and he does not want to be held.  However I discovered a trick today... :)  Place some head phones on his ears and crank up the music and he's memorized or even more accurately... He's Paralyzed! What a nice snuggle we had today listening/sleeping to our tunes! Love our rare lovin time!

Twins in scrubs!

Sometimes the universe doesn't give us exactly what we want, when we want it, because maybe there's something better down the road, just waiting for us to stumble across it.

-Rebecca Fox

I think if there's anyone who understands this quote so well right now, that's me. Sometimes you are on a path you feel is right for you at that time. You think you are happy and everything is going so well...then all of a sudden it changes. Then you have two choices. Be upset and confused...or be patient and know that God is in charge.

For those of you that weren't aware, I found myself unemployed during the middle of the summer. A little upset and confused by the situation, I was not handling it well. I moped and dreaded the idea of job hunting all over again. After a while of feeling sorry for myself and love from my husband, I got up the motivation and polished up my old resume. After a month of searching, applying, interviewing, and waiting....and waiting some more...I was offered a Dental Assistant position at Child Friendly Dental!! Starting pay was even very generous! I can't tell you how blessed we were during the time I was out of work. Ethan was awesome and picked up extra hours and random jobs. Family took good care of us as well. Heavenly father saw that we were taken care of.  One thing I learned through the last month was that you don't have to have it all to be happy! Everyday my happiness was up to me!

I just finished my first week there and have come to a conclusion. I was not happy at my previous job. I was simply content. This new office has amazing and friendly co-workers, the opportunity to work one on one with children, and much better hours. And I never would have found this job if it weren't for a little prompting to go in and apply from the spirit. If you know me at all, you know I hate blood and guts and anything to do with it...I never pictured myself in the dental field working in people's mouth. So accepting this job was a little tough to decide to do. But surprisingly...I love it!!

What's crazy is that my twin Shay and I both got offered the same position at different offices and started the same day! Neither one of us were looking for these dental field jobs, but we both already love it!!
